The Batch Manager gives you full visibility and control over how stock enters and flows through your inventory. Every unit in BMP360 is tracked at the batch level from receipt to consumption.
Viewing Batch Details
- Navigate to Inventory, then select Batch Manager.
- Search or filter by product to locate specific batches.
- Click a batch to view full details: quantity, cost per unit, status, and linked Purchase Order.
FIFO Stock Consumption
BMP360 enforces FIFO (First-In, First-Out) stock consumption automatically. When a sales invoice is created, the system deducts stock from the oldest available batch first. This means:
- Older stock is always consumed before newer stock.
- Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) calculations remain accurate and auditable.
- No manual stock allocation is required — the system handles it automatically.
Two FIFO modes are available: Standard Mode (partial batch consumption allowed) and Strict Mode (full batch must be consumed before the next opens). Ask your system administrator which mode is configured.
Batch Lifecycle
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| Active | Has remaining stock available for consumption |
| Depleted | All stock in the batch has been consumed by invoices |
| Locked | Linked to an in-transit PO; not yet available for consumption |
Batches are created automatically on PO receipt. You cannot create batches manually — this is by design to ensure all stock entries are financially traceable.
